Carolyn Concho-Lewis was encouraged by her family to carry on the tradition of making pottery but she credits her sister, Marilyn Ray-Lewis, with her decision to become an artist.  Concho uses only natural materials when constructing her pots, which often feature mimbres designs and animals.  She signs her pottery: Carolyn Concho, Acoma.
