Glen Yazzie is an excellent stone carver of Navajo and Hopi descent. Glen is half Navajo on his father's side and half Hopi on his mother's side.He was born in 1965 in Tuba City, Arizona and is a self-taught carver. In his art, he uses alabaster, white and black marble, soapstone and Indiana limestone. Glen usually does some inlay on his pieces with turquoise, shell or sometimes he uses both. He enjoys carving contemporary Navajo sculptures or full bodied Hopi kachinas. Culturally, Glen takes from both the Navajo and Hopi for inspiration for his work.
