| This is a handmade Native American rug and is a one of a kind item. Contemporary Ganado area rugs are known for their striking "Ganado red" colour usually contrasted with natural black, white, and grey elements. Designs are traditionally a single or double central diamond representing the weaver's home and the four sacred mountains portrayed in a triangular geometric in each of the four corners. This particular rug has the hand-washed and hand-carded wool which is the natural white, grey and black. There is also a little bit of aniline dyed wool which is a in-expensive dye used in the early 1900s. This rug measures 66x 44. |
