She is more well known for her Mimbres style pottery which she did not sign with her name until the 1950's. Her original works were usually signed "Acoma, New Mexico". Her husband is Toribio Luis "Haskaya"; mother of Ivan Lewis, Margaret Lewis Lim; Ann Lewis Hansen, Andrew Lewis, Emma Lewis Mitchell, Mary Lewis Garcia, Dolores Lewis Garcia, Cecilia Marie Lewis Lucero(Belle) and Carmel Lewis Haskaya.
