This older unusual Acoma pottery jar has a traditional Parrot design. The pot was made in the 1920s to 1930s. This pot is hand coiled with clay that had been gathered, sifted and when the water was added, the potter had to leave the clay so that it would be ready the next day. In the firing process, the fire was created using manure. The painting was all hand done with natural pigments created by the potter creating various geometric designs. This pot is 10" tall and 11" diameter and is a one of a Kind item!
