View Details
This is a handmade Native American pot and is a one of a kind item. This pot was created by Margaret Tafoya and has an avanyu design on the border. Matriarch of the post-revival potters of Santa Clara, Margaret Tafoya learned the art of pottery-making from her mother Sarafina. When the world began to recognize the fine art of the Pueblo potters, Margaret became on the most renowned artists of her day, teaching the craft to younger members of her family many of whom became master artisans in their own right. Today her creations are recognized world-wide for their sublime beauty and expert artisanry, those few pieces that remain commanding top dollar in the collector's market. This plate is 13" diameter and comes with the stand.
