Hopi Pot by an Unknown Artist. This pot is unsigned and features a parrot design. A hopi pot goes through a process of gathering & preparing the clay. Hand-coiled hopi pots are then smoothed, dried, sanded and goes through it's first polishing before being painted. The painting is of a natural pigment which the potter creates. The second polishing is then done and finally fired usually lasting a half a day to a couple of hours. This pot measures 5" tall and has a width of 9" inches.
