This is a Hopi pot by Leona J Navasie. This style of pottery is done by one specific family on the Hopi reservation, the Navasie family are all decendents of Frogwoman (Joy Navasie). The pottery incorporates white earthen clay that is painted with natural ochre pigment paints collected by the artist herself. Be sure to check out other pieces by this talented family, since they have created a style that is welcome to any pottery collection. This pot measures 8" inches in width and stands 9" inches tall.
