This is a Jicarilla Apache basket from the 1970's. This basket features a 4 point star design, one of the designs that was popularized in revival of Apache basketry (during this time period). These baskets aren't in production today. The basket also has a small piece of clothe near the center, this piece is usually makes it easier to start a coil around. Made in the USA. This basket measures 14 1/2" inches in diameter.
