View Details Navajo Native Dye Chart A Navajo hand made framed dye chart containing the actual dry floral materials from which some of the natural vegetal dye colours are achieved to be used in Navajo weaving. The small unfinished weaving in the center shows the use of the dyed wool and the colour obtained from each plant represented. The name of the plant is listed below each specimen along with its name in the Navajo language. The plants are, clockwise from the bottom left: red onion skin, alder bark, canaigre dock root, gamble oak bark, and rose hips. The weaving and plants are displayed against a background of carded white wool. Please note this is a hand made, one-of-a-kind item.
