Women’s Antique Beaded Kiowa Boots
C645 – Women’s boots CA 1940
Women's Kiowa boots made of brain tanned leather (a very tedious and time consuming process). To enhance the appearance of the boots they are covered with yellow ochre and a strip of red ochre on each boot. The boots are adorned with glass beads colored green, white, yellow, red, and blue. The beads could possibly have originated from Venezula and were traded with the Native American tribe. There are also some brass buttons running along the side. CA 1940. The boots measures 16" long, 9" heel to toe.
