Handmade Zia Pottery by Lois Medina. Lois Medina was born in 1959, and has been creating magnificent works of clay art since 1963. Taught b her maternal grandmother Juanita Toribio Pino. This pot is decorated with two different renditions of the Zia Bird one on the front and back side of the pot with flowers and other traditional symbols. Each one of her pots are hand coiled and smoothed down to a flat surface. The painting is sharp and bold, made from natural pigments. Each one of her pots were fired outdoors the traditional way. The pot measures 9" tall by 12 1/2" wide in diameter.
