Nampeyo Hopi Seed Jar
Hopi handmade polychrome pottery seed jar attributed to Nampeyo of Hano. Nampeyo is known for reviving and expanding the beautiful ancient style of pottery called Sikyatki. This particular pot has gone through a process of gathering and preparing the clay, then coiling the pot, smoothing, drying, sanding, going through it's first polishing. The painting is then started usually with natural pigments, the pot then goes through a second polishing then the final process of firing. This hand painted pottery is adorned with cloud motifs. This is a one of a kind item. Made in the USA. Attributed to Nampeyo.
Condition: Very good for age, some signs of wear, good coloration no restoration
