Santo Domingo handmade necklace by Mary Coriz Lovato. Mary C. Lovato, daughter of Santiago Leo Coriz, was born to the Corn Clan in 1936. Her parents encouraged Mary to learn the art of making jewelry at a young age. She considers her jewelry traditional with a contemporary twist. This necklace is embellished with a single strand of melon shell heishi along with turquoise and spiny oyster shell tabs and sterling silver beads near the clasp. There is a single coral bead on one side of the necklace near the clasp which is considered a signature hallmark for Mary. Measures 19" long. One of a kind. Made in the USA.
